Wishaw and Shotts Consortium today confirmed that they have awarded Project 42 with £3,650 from the Improving Lives Locality Activity Fund, with Shotts' Getting Better Together organisation donating use of the Springhill Community Hub, the equivalent of a further £1350.
The Pilot, which runs for an initial 15 weeks, called Project 42 - The Beginning, will be a celebration of Art and Music and will kick off with a family-fun open day where you can come along and experience a taster of some of the themes of the workshops that we will be delivering as well as try your hand at some of the weird, wonderful and ordinary musical instruments we have.

On granting the funding for the project, Wishaw and Shotts Consortium provided very positive feedback to the application, particularly noting our passion for the project, and supporting young people to use Art and Music to improve their mental and physical wellbeing. The Consortium commented that they were very keen to see where this pilot leads and hope that with support from other organisations in the area, we can grow at a sustainable pace.
The Project 42 - Shotts Open Day will be held on Saturday June 21st from 2:30pm to 4:30pm and will include support from Getting Better Together, fun games, Listen Lanarkshire Radio and the guys from the Trackside Bikes will also be there.
Regular Art and Music tuition and therapy workshops will run for the following 14 weeks every Saturday from 2:30pm - 4:30pm and we have a very short online survey that we are urging local residents to complete which will help us form how we deliver these workshops. You can find the survey here.
